This was a gift from my mother. 母親からのプレゼント。ロンドンのサイモン・カーター。元々は医者で、昭和６０年、趣味で集めてたビンテージ物をきっかけに男性用のアクセサリーを作り始めた。

SIMON CARTER

The Simon Carter story began in 1985 on King’s Road, London. Simon was studying to become a doctor, and spent his free time pursuing his interest in vintage clothing and accessories in the hip and stylish shops of Chelsea. His first business move came in the shape of a men’s pewter brooch which he has manufactured, and sold successfully to one of Chelsea’s most innovative jewelry stores. From this modest beginning Simon developed the business to include cufflinks and watches, adding new product lines as the client base expanded.

Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

I just wanted to do a quick post of a book I just finished reading.

Biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. I’ve always been an Apple user. When this book came out Tori bought it for me.

I don’t want to ruin the book by telling you what it is about.
But I was fascinated by the beautiful relationship between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Both born on the same year. Of course they were rivals but they also had so much respect for each other.

For a lack of better word, Steve Jobs was crazy. But he was crazy in a good way. A true leader. An artist that was capable of materializing his imagination. This trait is very similar to what I do as a conductor. I see a score, I try to understand what the composer is speaking, and I present the work to the audience.

His precision to detail and the actions he took to create a perfect product was truly inspirational. I learned so much from reading this book.

If you are in a creative profession (music, art, painting, design, culinary, etc), I highly recommend this book. You won’t regret it.

In regards to the future of Apple, I think it’s going to continue to be awesome. I have full faith in Tim Cook. Take a look at this article.
